Hello, I’m a 20 year old Norwegian, going to Japan the 28th of March 2005, for twelve days. I’m travelling with my Aikido-club, which will lead us to Tokyo and Kyoto (will be practicing at Hombu Dojo). Basically I’m looking for fellow students of Japanese origin who are available for meeting up in Tokyo and/or Kyoto during the period of 28th of March to the 8th of April. It would be nice to meet someone who aren’t a whole lot older or younger than me (18-25 years of age), who are able to communicate easily speaking English. I’d be happy to meet either a male or female, or both. I’d be interested in seeing schools and universities (just looking at the locations, or campus sites, but also sitting in a classroom if that’s possible - perhaps during an English class? ;)). It would also be nice to be guided around to popular places and spots which are preferred by students and Japanese teens, just to get some insight in cultural life (shops, arcades, cafes, restaurants and other things). And of course, I’d love to see a Japanese home, whether it be a house or an apartment in a building, or if it’s a home of just one person or a family. I wouldn’t be hard to ask as far as going out is concerned; would absolutely love to see the nightlife in either city. If you think this sounds interesting, please contact me. We could exchange a few words over MSN or via e-mail for starters. I’d very much like to get to know the person I eventually will be meeting, so the sooner you contact me, the better. However, don’t worry about being obligated to meet me, just because you’ve contacted me. I’d appreciate any feedback, even if it is just for the sake of being pen pals. Mata-ne!
