I can't find "stength" in my dic. strength:力 / 強 (strong) / 剛 (strong) courage:勇気 / 度胸 wisdom:智 / 知 suffer:苦 (pain, suffering(s), an affliction) / 悩 (worried, distressed, anguish) / 忍 (bear, hide) mysterious:神秘的 / 神秘 (noun) might be better air:気 / 氣 (old style of 気) (aura). 空気 is something atomospheric. earth:地 is ok, 土 (soil) might fit with other three letters (concerning 五行説(木火土金水)) DO NOT TATOO SILLY EXPRESSIONS! And, it seems to me that Chinese people are more sensible to CHINESE CHARACTERS. Well, it's a sure fun for us to see "KANJI tatoos" though. (T-T) | ||

Chinese is a contextual language and each word (=character) remains invariable whatever its grammatical function is. Its function or meaning will be guessed by its position and surrounding words, i.e. context. So you can use 養 indifferently for nurture, nutrition, nourish or nourishment. In short, the expressions such as "I speech English" or "She meet he yesterday" are ridiculous in English but not for Chinese: you can easily guess the true meaning by analysing how each word appears.
