N!!!

I can't find "stength" in my dic.
strength:力 / 強 (strong) / 剛 (strong)
courage:勇気 / 度胸
wisdom:智 / 知
suffer:苦 (pain, suffering(s), an affliction) / 悩 (worried, distressed, anguish) / 忍 (bear, hide)
mysterious:神秘的 / 神秘 (noun) might be better
air:気 / 氣 (old style of 気) (aura). 空気 is something atomospheric.
earth:地 is ok, 土 (soil) might fit with other three letters (concerning 五行説(木火土金水))

DO NOT TATOO SILLY EXPRESSIONS!
And, it seems to me that Chinese people are more sensible to CHINESE CHARACTERS.
Well, it's a sure fun for us to see "KANJI tatoos" though. (T-T)

Hello, I also want help for a tattoo. It's a Japanese proverb "Never be afraid of anything". A friend of mine wants to have it (vertical, in the old japanese writing) and he told me that in Japanese it's

"ikanaru koto ni oite mo osorenai koto"

but he doesn't know how it is spelled.
If you could help me I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

P.S. If you also could send me a high analysis image file it would be great elisavet_m@yahoo.com

Dear Nestor,
However much I would enjoy helping you to write your and your son's names in Kanji, I am afraid that I must decline.
Foreign names, when transliterated to Japanese, are only written in Katakana. If you are looking for Kanji, I would suggest posting on a forum for CHINESE translation and transliteration, as Kanji means CHINESE CHARACTER.

I am very sorry for your long wait, and the final outcome at this forum... However, I wish you the best of luck in your search!

Dear Mr. Anonymous,

Thanks for the response you gave me, it's ok that now i know that our names can't be translated in Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana translation is much too long to be tattoo in my arm, but i didn't know that Kanji is Chinese Character in translation, cause i love Japanese character alot, I've been trying to study Japanese culture eventhough I'm a Filipino, I even learn the Self-Defense of Aikido by O'Sensei Oeshiba, and i like it alot rather than any martial arts or discipline available here in the Phillippines. Thanks again, hope to find a suitable character for our names.

Thanks,

Nestor

Dear Anonymous,
the first "what" is not an interrogative but a relative so the character should be 其
The second "nourish" character is not used in Japanese language. Replace it with 養

while Nutrition is formed by 2 symbols
it's right equally ??

Chinese is a contextual language and each word (=character) remains invariable whatever its grammatical function is. Its function or meaning will be guessed by its position and surrounding words, i.e. context.
So you can use 養 indifferently for nurture, nutrition, nourish or nourishment.
In short, the expressions such as "I speech English" or "She meet he yesterday" are ridiculous in English but not for Chinese: you can easily guess the true meaning by analysing how each word appears.
Best regards,
