Hello, I have recently been falling for a dear friend of mine who is fluent in Japanese. He keeps sending me e-mails with "subject" titles in Japanese, and I don't undertsand them. If any one could help me out with this I would appreciate it greatly. The word was "aishiteru". Also, if it is possable, could anyone tell me how to say "I miss you" in Japanese? Thank you soo very much. |

Hello Again! It's me, the poor girl whose friend keeps taunting her with Japanese subject titles in his e-mails. I know you haven't replied to the other entry yet, but I have another...the phrase was "anata ni aitai". So if there is anyone out there who knows what this means, please help me out. Thank you soo very much. |

愛してる = ai shiteru = "i love you" 貴方に会いたい = anata ni aitai = "i wanna see you" 寂しい = sabishii = "lonely" or "i miss you" |

甘くてü味しい - sweet and satisfying [yummy] 戀 - KOI means like "love"... 濃 - KOI means like "strong [flavor/colour/etc]" 鯉 - KOI means "carp" 古意 - KOI "ancient ways/the feelings of the ancients" i dunno... i can't think of a drink named koi... is it fake? |

Hello again to all. I have another subject title to be translated. It is funny to invite you into my love life one e-mail title at a time. I fear I have fallen. Here is the phrase...."cielo sta andando bruciare i vostri occhi". At first I wasn't even sure it was Japaese. If it is not, alas. However if it is, I would be grateful for the enlightenment of translation. Thank you so very much. |

DEFINITELY not japanese. ummm... it might be italian... but when I ran it through a translator, it said "The sky is going to burn your eyes." o_O Maybe it means the sun is going to burn your eyes.... I'm not sure. But, still, what does the sun burning your eyes have to do with love or whatever? I'm confused. But that's the best I can give you. |

"Samishii ne saikin aenakute" (寂しいね最近敢えなくて) means "I've been so lonely lately." or "I've missed you so much lately." The difference between samishii (寂しい) and samishii yo (寂しいよ) is that the "yo" is like an exclamation point. While samishii alone would mean "I've missed you," samishii yo would mean something like, "I've missed you so much!" or something like that. My love is said like "Watashi wa ai shiteru mono," pronounced "wah-tah-shee wah eye shee-tay-rue moh-no." |

Big bear - Ookii kuma Fallen angel: That means something like "Exiled Angel"... |

wouldn't 'big bear' be 'ooki no kuma'? |

Matjlav is right. Big bear is "ookii kuma." "ooki no kuma" is incorrect. Fallen angel can be written as 堕ちた天使 |

> Matjlav is right. Big bear is > "ookii kuma." "ooki no kuma" is incorrect. How about 'ooki na kuma' though? 大きい熊 282 Google hits, 大きな熊 1770 Google hits.

"Ookii" and "ookina" are basically the same in this case. Slight differences in nuance appear in other cases, such as: 大きいお兄さん:Brother who is older. 大きなお兄さん:Brother who is taller or larger in size. There are many more, but I can't list them all. You have to learn from pratical usage, I think. |

It looks like someone translated "I don't understand you" in a literal fashion, the word order isn't the same in Japanese (it should be "Boku wa anata wo wakarimasen"). |

Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I was going to just get three pawprints as a tattoo, but I was thinking maybe something like, "love of animals". Can that be translated? I don't want it to end up being sexual or something. Thanks! |
