Hi there, I was searching for japanese translation service provider and was introduced to this site. If possible, can anyone please translate this message that someone sent to me? it says: ラボ友になろう瘢雹P . i have no idea what the kanji words mean! Thank you very much, much appreciated! all the best, diana |

Dear Diana, the phenomena is called Mojibaku, i.e. "letter transformation" and it arrives when you send a Japanese email without saying it is Japanese (you know it is Japanese but the computer cannot guess it). So the computer sends it with the default encoding set which is Roman characters and it is quite difficult to find the original message. The text begins with "let's become labo friend.." the remaining being undecipherable. Best regards,

you were mistaken, info... it's callde 文字化け (moji bake) which is an "unintelligible set of characters". But, that was a very nice introduction to mojibake! also, ラボ (rabo) means "laboratory", it's short for ラボラトリー (raboratorii) |
