Ok, can someone please help me cause I have seen two different symbols that are suppose to mean "strength" in Kanji, and I am wondering which one really means "strength" and what is the difference between the two? Go to: http://www.bmezine.com/tattoo/A30411/high/vplp04op.jpg The second symbol from the bottom is suppose to mean "strength" in Kanji Now go to: http://www.bmezine.com/tattoo/A20307/high/p1010012.jpg This is the same symbol as the one in the first picture and like I said, it is suppose to mean "strength" in Kanji Now go to: http://www.bmezine.com/tattoo/A20307/high/p1010011.jpg This symbol in the middle of the sun is also suppose to mean "strength" in kanji but it is different from the first two symbols. This is the symbol for "strength" that everybody posts on here So, what is the difference between the first two symbols and the third one? Are the both written in Kanji? Do they both mean "strength" or maybe one means strong and the other means strength? Someone please help me I am confused? Thanks so much. |

Dear Booty, the characters on the first and second tattoos are both "courage" 勇 while the third is "force" 力. The strength is rather 強 but I recognize those 3 words may be interchangeably used. Kind regards,

Is there anywhere I can go to get a bigger picture of that strength symbol? Also, are you sure those first two met "courage" and the third one met "force"? Why does everybody post the symbol that you said was "force" as meaning "strength"? Thanks man. |

I'm looking for someone who knows how to write kanji well, so that I can design a tattoo around it. The symbol I'm wanting is "shinjukou", I chose it because of my daughter who died of SIDS in 2003 when she was only 4 months old. She was like a shiny pearl to me and I miss her, if anyone can help me with this I'd like to say "Thank you so much". |

If you mean like a hermaphrodite, it is "半陰陽". If you mean like someone who is attracted to both sexes, it's バイセクシュアル.

I need the Kanji symbol for Thanks or Thank You. I would prefer one or two symbols instead of the word spelled out. Thanks |

While there is no kanji for "sister," there is only older sister and younger sister. But this would work...

Ummm...... Thanks for your help. But, that's really long. At a different site I found symbols for each of those words and it looks completely different. Now what do I do? I would show you what they look like, but I'm not that computer literate. Thanks for you help Matjlav. Any other thoughts or suggestions? |

The reason it is long is because it was written with Japanese grammar. Normally in Japanese you can't just put one symbol after another, you have to put in grammatical particles, adjective endings and other stuff. If you want just the symbols, then it becomes Chinese, not Japanese. Try asking help in a Chinese language forum. |

O.k. I get it. But, how about Kanji. What would it look like in that. I did a little more research and found all the symbols, but can I put them together or does that change the meaning? I hope that I'm not offending anyone with all my questions about things I obviously don't understand. But I just think the writing is so beautiful and at the same time I don't want to screw it up. Thanks for all the help. |

When writing a sentence in Japanese, you cannot use kanji alone. You must also use kana letters to represent the grammatical stuff. Here is a simplified version of Matjlav's answer: "Strong beautiful woman"

I am fairly new and I have been searching through the threads for the word(s) "speed" and/or fast (as in running). I have found multiple versions of these words and i am wondering if anybody would be able to post an image of either/both of these words as they know them. Thanks in advance! |

Hi - does anyone know the kanji for 'grace'? Is there a single one that means 'grace'? Or if not, I am seeking kanji for the following meanings, preferably with a single character for each if that is possible: a) grace/blessing, b) grace/favour, c) grace of God. Thank you!
