Posted on Monday, February 19, 2001 - 02:24 pm:    you know that symbol in hiragana that repeats the first consonant that comes before it? it looks like a "tsu" only it's smaller. There is no symbol for middle sister, and no one symbol term that all of you could get. Two symbols is all. In japan, nobody is "equal", per say, and it is always thought of as "above or below". This is probably the reason for not having a "middle sister" because you would say 1st daughter, 2nd daughter, 3rd daughter.
